ASGARDIA, THE SPACE NATION - THE SPACE UTOPIA

Have you ever desired a place free from the daily strife of politics, the humdrum of unnecessary stuff and wanted to escape to a different world altogether? In that case, Asgardia might be the best place for you!

The perfect utopia does not exist, but the fact that it does not exist now does not mean that it cannot be created! Asgardia may find some bumps along the way, but the feeling of wanting a better future is something that everyone wants, so "One humanity - One Unity", no matter what people think our dreams are something that will never take away from us.

For this reason, we would like to leave a reflection on what would be the “Perfect Utopia”, in this case one could call it the “Space Utopia”, in the current consciousness it is thought that in this system one has to be autarkic, but living in a globalized world in which practically everything is connected, it would not be the most correct.

Each country has its strengths, some have extensive lands of cultivable fields, others have rare-earth elements, a great education system, impressive healthcare, etc.

But what is the most important thing? The people. Without its citizens, a country would not be the way it is now, for that reason, if a country does not take care of its people and makes them ignorant and influential, what it does is destroy the future of that nation.

So what should space utopia look like?

Asgardia, named after the old norse city of Asgard is proudly the considered the first Space Nation. This is not just one of those rumours that you might come across on the internet, rather a full fledged nation with a sitting parliament and over a million people across the globe who call themselves Asgardians with pride.

The establishment of Asgardia was proposed by Dr Igor Ashurbeyli back in October 2016. While a constitution of the Space Kingdom of Asgardia was adopted in July 2017 and subsequently came into action 2 months after that.

Looking at the official declaration of Asgardia, we can quite easily see that they stand for quite impressive goals, those being: to ensure the peaceful use of space, to protect the Earth from space hazards, and to create a demilitarized and free scientific base of knowledge in space.

Asgardia quite proudly launched a satellite, the Asgardia-1 into space aboard a Cygnus rocket in 2017 and now claims to be "the first nation to have all of its territory in space."

The First Space Nation chose an innovative approach to the state system: a digital protocol. The nation is run by people elected by residents from around the globe, 2020 has not been a slow year for the Nation. On the contrary, work has progressed with great speeds and has been fully focused on building its digital economy with a digital currency named SOLAR(still in progress), which will become an important component of the Nation digital protocol.
